Game Preview

Let’s catch up with the performances of the Ticats and Elks this season so far.

The Hammer didn’t start the season as planned. The Grey Cup runners-up are on a 3-match losing streak. They lost to the Roughriders on the road in their season opener. Despite a close battle defensively until the third quarter, the Ticats lost by 30-13 points.

In the home opener against the Stamps in week 2, we thought the victory was in the paws of the Ticats. However, they gave away a 24-3 halftime lead to lose the match in overtime by 30-33 points.

The Tiger-Cats lost to the reigning champions Blue Bombers last week in Winnipeg. They again fell apart in the second half for a 26-12 defeat. Poor play in crucial moments made them suffer this season so far.

Elsewhere, Edmonton Elks are in a similar situation, still struggling to find their feet. They suffered a hammering defeat by 59-15 points in their season opener against the BC Lions. In their home opener in week 2, the Elks lost to the Roughriders by double digits.

Edmonton Elks were 9.5-point underdogs on the road against the Stamps last week. They gave away a 17-13 lead late in the third quarter to lose by 30-23 points.

After finishing at the bottom in West Division last season, the Elks are in a state of rebuilding under head coach Chris Jones.

Elks vs Tiger-Cats Best Betting Picks and Predictions

Let’s find out the best bets for the Elks vs Ticats Week 4 game.

The Hammer played a wonderful game last week at home. They were in a 24-3 halftime lead before falling apart. The Ticats could get a similar start at home against the Elks without messing it up.

One key positive side of the first three games for the Ticats was their defense. The defense was at times terrific. Once they became consistent throughout the game, the Ticats could become the Grey Cup contenders.

The Ticats’ QB Dane Evans needs to improve his game. He would be better than the Canadian rookie Tre Ford, who would start for the Elks in this match.

The Elks’ defense is struggling. They would find it even more difficult on the road to Hamilton. Give me the Ticats for this one.

We are going with the Tiger-Cats -6.5.
