The Spanish giants Atletico Madrid are on the verge of signing Belgian midfielder Axel Witsel as a free agent, according to the reports of RTBF Sport.
The official announcement should come as early as Tuesday after the player completes his medical. Atletico Madrid is offering him a year contract with the option for a second year. The 33-year-old midfielder also had an offer on the table from the Ligue 1 side Marseille.
Axel Witsel played for Dortmund last season. He scored 2 goals in 30 appearances for the German club.
