Arsenal completed the signing of Porto midfielder Fabio Vieira for a €35m transfer fee earlier today. The deal includes another €5m add-ons depending on the player’s performances.
The 22-year-old Portuguese joined Porto in 2008 when he was only 8. He worked his way up and joined the senior team in 2020. Vieira created 14 goals last season for Porto.
The playmaker is yet to make his senior debut for Portugal. However, he played for the Portugal U21 side and scored 13 goals in 21 appearances.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta spoke about the new signing on the club’s website.
“Fabio is a very creative player that will bring high quality and versatility to our attacking play. I’m very excited that we’ve identified and signed such a special talent.”
